Carolyne and I hope all your ears were burning at 10.30 est on Thursday evening, because that's when we handed the wheelchairs over to Seiha, Sil and their parents on Friday morning at 10.30, here in Cambodia.
At first both children were frightened and didn't want to be strapped in, so we just sat them in and pushed them around this big room we were in. Once we'd done that, for all of 30 seconds, there were no problems, as you can see from the photos.
The parents were extremely grateful, Dad was even crying with joy. The wheelchairs will transform the lives of the family as they'll no longer have to carry the kids around.
Phyllis/Teri if you're going to open a new foreign market, I could probably get a couple of kids to demonstrate the products for you.
Seriously, on behalf of World Vision Koh Krolor, Seiha, Sil, Maly (their sister), their parents, and Carolyne and I, a heartfelt thanks.
We know it wasn't easy, and we made a big ask, but we hope, that like us, you think it was all worthwhile.
Our very best regards,
Steve & Carolyne.

We got the Racer last week and took it for a couple of runs this weekend.
You are right about the color and wheel covers; they turned out great. We
got a ton of smiles and thumbs up along the boardwalk in Pacific Beach. PB
is our favorite place to run; nice and flat, a big wide sidewalk, and lots
Tell everyone at Adaptive Star thank you. You're providing some amazing
products that give us the freedom to get out and have a blast.

Lucas Carr and Matt Brown 2014
Where do you begin when it comes to setting the standard for racing
chairs? Since day 1 Teri and the Adaptive Star Staff has been a staple in
the success for many teams across the United States and all over the world
when it comes to competition. Over the last 2 years Matt Brown and I have
competed in 4 Marathons and over 25 athletic events. Matt was injured when
he was 15 years old during a varsity hockey while he was attending Norwood
High School in Norwood, MA. Over the last 2 years he has the feeling of
being an athlete again. With many prayers answered the 2014 Boston Marathon
was a complete success on many levels. As a team effort across the board it
was Adaptive Star who contributed to building the best racing chair this
side of the world. With many thanks to Teri and the Adaptive Star Staff keep
up the good work and continue being the best at what you do. The success of
those wanting to be athletes again are a dream come true!

myTeam Triumph Canada Testimonial Nov. 2013-
"myTeam Triumph Canada (an athletic ride-along program created for children, teens, adults and veterans with disabilities who would normally not be able to experience endurance events such as triathlons or road races) is pleased to endorse the products and equipment provided by Adaptive Star. Both the Endeavour and Axiom Racer Chairs helped our angels and captains not only race but to be competitors among all runners. These chairs are extremely light, highly manoeuvrable, and very comfortable. The adjustable handle bars and forearm rests allow our angels to maintain their running posture on both flat and hilly courses and the adjustable straps and seat keep our captains safe and comfortable through turns and even steep descents. These chairs have helped to elevate our racing to a whole new level of performance and we look forward to many more races with our Adaptive Star products.
The customer service and support we found through this company were exceptional and on top of that the shipping and packaging of these products was impeccable. As a Canadian organization, these racing chairs were sent thousands of miles across country to arrive at our location intact and without a scratch. We were very impressed on how little assembly we had to do when it arrived. Everything was pre-assembled by Adaptive Star before leaving their factory which made life a whole lot easier for us, (in fact, it took longer to open the boxes than it did to put the chairs together).
Adaptive Star is our choice of supplier of special racing equipment!

John and Elyssa Monoghan Testimonial November 2013
My husband and I have been together for over 4 years. We built our relationship on being active. Whether it was cycling, running or taking a hike, we spent countless hours outdoors together. When John suffered a spinal cord injury from a mountain biking accident in 2011 we didn’t want quadriplegia to change that.
I found Adaptive Star’s website while searching for racer chairs and couldn’t be more pleased with the experience that followed. Within hours of inquiring online, we received a phone call and learned about the many different options and features available to us. The staff was extremely knowledgeable, accommodating and more than willing to take time going over all available options. We were confident we would receive the best chair to suit our needs AND wants and even ended up with some pretty rad custom wheel covers to suit our personality.
John and I received our racer chair October 2013 and ran our first mini marathon with it November 2, 2013. We ran the same race in 2012 using a borrowed chair but because this racer chair was custom fit to John’s measurements he was much more comfortable for the duration of the race.We can confidently say there will be many more races to come!
We seriously could not be happier with our experience from beginning to end. Thank you so very much for everything and most of all for helping us continue being active together!

To Greg & Teri Durrin and our adopted family at Adaptive Star-
We cannot thank you enough for stopping to listen and care about our family. After three years of aggravation, lugging around heavy and awkward mobility equipment we finally have a product that lets us be a family!
We had a daunting list of needs and demands...a full sun canopy, easy maneuverability, light weight, able to collapse into a sedan trunk, plenty of on board storage space, five-point safety harness, multiple seat back positions, and oh yeah...can you make sure it looks like everyone else's stroller?
Your staff met each request with understanding, compassion, thoughtfulness, and a heartfelt desire to exceed every expectation.
The Axiom 1 meets all of Rylee's needs, and our needs as an active family. We cannot thank you enough for giving us back our life, allowing us to focus on what is most important-making memories and having fun!

Not defined by a diagnosis...but rather by who she is to those that love her.
Regarding the larger underneath storage basket that we have for Rylee's stroller:
No other mobility product on the market today has the storage of an Axiom...believe me, we've looked. This basket is strong enough to hold a portable suction machine and/or portable feeding pump-generally with room left over for a change of clothes for your child, and enough feeding and diapering supplies for a day out on the town.
To our Adaptive Star Family,
We are so thankful for you and for our new stroller! Our Adaptive Star experience has exceeded our expectations in so many ways. We are so happy with our product and we are telling everyone we know about it!
It took us a while to find what we needed for our daughter, Ellie Kate. I have to say, we were picky – looking for something that was as convenient and easy as a stroller, something that wouldn’t draw attention to our little girl. We needed something with a sun-shade since Ellie is sensitive to light and heat. Also on the list was a large basket for a suction machine and for her feeding pump. We needed something that was easy to navigate and easy to fold and lift.
While there are many quality equipment products out there, I couldn’t find anything that met what I was looking for and what we really needed . . . until we found out about Adaptive Star!
I was impressed with your company from the very beginning, when I initially emailed an inquiry. I didn’t receive a generic response – I received a personal reply from Teri Durin. Teri got back to me in such a timely manner and was eager to help! I didn’t feel just like a customer; I felt like a friend.
Adaptive Star is true to its name – you adapted the product to our daughter’s specific needs. You made a stroller just for Ellie Kate – fit to her measurements and needs. You made it what we needed it to be, and I have never experienced anything like that with any other equipment company! I cannot thank Teri and Greg enough for all that they have done for our family with our stroller. It truly is a gift – meeting every criteria that we had set and going above and beyond our expectations.
Thank you, Adaptive Star, for being so personal and for meeting the needs of so many with your amazing products!

An E-mail From the Braynt Family below, after Tammy's amazing race :)
To the Crew at Adpative Star,
We wanted to thank you for all you are doing for Tammy and to let you know just how much this means to all of us. I wish you could have been here for The Main Street Mile. Tammy had the time of her life being pushed by Adam and being in the loaner chair! It meant more than you can possibly know. This was the fastest mile Tammy has ever run and she was the fastest woman of any of the heats at the race, thanks to Adam and your chair! I am going to add a few pictures for you to have too.
Wayne pushed Tammy in another race last night in Iowa that had almost 2,000 people in it, plus we have one next weekend too. I’m sure this chair will be getting quite a workout! While at the race last night Wayne spoke to a man pushing another wheelchair and he is very interested about the new chair. I gave him our email address so we may be hearing from him soon. Wayne wanted me to tell you that he was going back and forth with the man in the other chair for the first 2 miles but by the last 2, with the help of this loaner chair, he beat them to the finish line!
We are all very excited about this new chair, and very grateful! I just wish I had the words to convey how very much this means to all of us!! Thanks again.

Tammy & Dad after a big race. Tammy came in second, yahoooooooo go Tammy! ( And dad to of course) :)
Happy Thanksgiving to all of you at Adaptive Star…. I am late with letting you know that the foot wells came, but I wanted to send a picture. We ran the Turkey Trot here in Fredericksburg as a family today, thanks to the jogging stroller. No one had to stay behind… Major thankfulness for that!!
Here is Brandy in the jogger and she looks WAY more comfy!
Hope your holiday was wonderful!

Our 16 year old son Eric has spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy. We are a very active family and Eric has always enjoyed being part of our outdoor activities. As he has gotten older and has grown in size it has been more difficult to find a jogger that is built strong enough to handle his weight and also is tough enough to handle less than optimal terrain. After much research and talking to many people we purchased the Axiom jogger. We are very happy with it. From the first moment he was in it we could tell that Eric loved it. The Axiom is well built and very comfortable. We have taken it with us on numerous walks and for light jogs. It is stable and easy to maneuver, even going over hills and off road through rocky terrain. We have also used it on the rough cobblestones of Boston and over the many curbs in New York City. It has performed optimally through each and every adventure. We do not hesitate to recommend the Axiom jogger and can truthfully say that it has added a lot of fun to Eric's life.
